Yarn-bombing for a good cause

Trudewind members knit to raise awareness about violence against women.

Over the month of August, some members of the craft groups at Trudewind Road Neighbourhood House were busy knitting and crocheting Orange Squares.

“We’re supporting the Zonta and Orange Door initiative to raise awareness about domestic, family and gender-based violence,” said Trudewind Coordinator, Leisha Deery.

“It’s part of the Albury Wodonga Community Yarn Bombing Project. “All these Orange Squares will yarn bomb Junction Place in Wodonga from 16th November to 10th December!

“After the event the squares will be made into blankets and donated.”
